IT'S JUST NOT LIKE ANY OTHER NIGHTCLUB

It is only open in term time....
It only has two nights....
For the Trent Army.
NTSU's official Sports & Societies Night.

UoN's longest running weekly night....
16 years at the last count.
If it's Friday....it's Ocean.
Tickets are sold online (quickly!)
Also available at the SU Reception in Portland Building.
Our reputation often precedes us....
So come and see what all the fuss is about.
He's the Boss, the Gaffer....
The man in charge...owner of the Big O.
Or '@andythehoe' to his Instagram friends.
To cut a long story short he basically started Ocean Friday's 16 years ago....as a DJ.
And took over the club in 2008.
Some say if you cut him open VK runs through his veins.
Andy recently emigrated to Vancouver Island, Canada with his wife and two kids.
But his love for the Big O is so strong he commutes....
Yes you read that correctly. Commutes, Every 2-3 weeks he flies back from Canada to the Big O for an overnight stay.
2 flights and a drive from Heathrow to Nottingham
Averaging 18+ hours each way.
To spend 6 hours playing a questionable selection of pop music to drunk students.
And also appear in the odd Instagram story.
(As you can see from the gallery.)
You think commuting from Canada is ridiculous?
His random competitions are even more so.
He spent most of last year giving away VK Stash via his Instagram as a way of passing the boredom between airports.
The grand finale of these competitions was giving away an all expenses trip to Canada.
Yes again, you read that correctly.
He flew two lucky students out to Vancouver,
was their tour guide, driver, chef and boat Captain....and bill picker upper!
Sounds like nonsense right?
Have a look on his Instagram.
Give him a follow....all his important Ocean information gets posted on there.
(Along with random photos of life in general, wife, kids and sometimes dinner.)
Who knows....you could even be winning a random trip to Canada next Summer?
